The VW Corrado VR6 represents an exciting chapter in the history of Volkswagen’s compact sports cars. Originally positioned as the Golf GTI’s larger sibling, the Corrado entered the market in the 1990s with a particular focus on performance, precision, and a sporty driving experience.
At the heart of the Corrado VR6 was Volkswagen’s VR6 engine, which was characterized by a compact design and smooth, consistent power delivery. Thanks to the VR6 concept, in which two inline six-cylinder banks are closely arranged in a V-shape, the engine offered high revving ability and smooth idling.
