An agreement was reached with\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr\u003eAuto Union in Chemnitz to produce the DKW F2 under license. In a revised form, the car\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr\u003ewas introduced to the market in 1934 as the JAWA 700.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eTo demonstrate the capabilities of this new model, JAWA entered the 750 cc class in the\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr\u003e1934 and 1935 editions of the event. In addition to enlarging the engine to 750 cm³ and\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr\u003eincreasing its output to 27 hp, JAWA racing driver Antonín Vitvar designed and built a\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr\u003especial body featuring an extended rear section fitted with a vertical stabilizing fin to\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr\u003eimprove the car's directional stability.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe construction of this rear section was particularly remarkable. Presumably in an effort\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr\u003eto reduce weight even further, Vitvar used tightly stretched fabric instead of sheet metal.\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr\u003eThe fabric was then coated with filler, smoothed, and painted, creating an aerodynamically\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr\u003eshaped tail.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eVitvar's design proved to be highly effective. His car reached a top speed of 130 km\/h, and\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr\u003eits exceptional stability allowed him to maintain higher speeds through corners than his\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr\u003ecompetitors. However, his promising performance ultimately came to an end when an\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr\u003eengine failure forced him to retire before reaching the finish.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFor many years, the car was considered lost. It was eventually rediscovered, painstakingly\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr\u003erestored, and can now be seen competing in historic racing events.
